Although Carvansons make fragrances, we realise the importance of staying ahead of all major trends and market forces and that includes skincare trends. Fragrance is a key part of skincare, bodycare band personal care launches. So in this article, we take a look at the key skincare and body care trends we expect to see for 2024/25.
Skincare Trends
PROTECT THE BARRIER
The latest wave of skincare brands are focused less on aggressive, fast-acting results and more on nurturing the skin’s barrier, maintaining a healthy, diverse microbiome and aligning more with self-care. Skincare products are looking to promote ‘total skin barrier health’ and sensitive cosmetics lines that help nurture the skin.
BACK TO BASICS
Less is more. Streamlining our skincare products will be one of the biggest trends of the year, as many of us realise too much can take a toll on our skin. In reducing skincare rituals, there is expected to be greater demand for gentler, plant-based ingredients. Plant-based are rapidly being adopted as alternatives to typically harsher ingredients like retinol. Superfood and botanical-inspired fragrances and formulations will grow in popularity.
GO AND GLOW
Glowing skin is going nowhere, as we focus on how to make our complexions appear radiant and healthy but without clogging pores or damaging the skin itself. But a subtle gleam isn’t enough. Tinted face and body creams are on the rise again, attempting to mimic the brighter and fairer complexions brought about through the summer months.
SKIN AND SUN
With a growing concern around the effects of blue light on the skin, such as premature ageing and hyperpigmentation, we can predict to see an increase in products targeting this. SPF mousse is the latest innovation and it’s said to provide excellent protection against UV rays.

Bodycare and Skincare Trends
Prioritising Pampering
Today, people are prioritising self-care and wellness more than ever, seeking daily or weekly rituals to reconnect with themselves and pamper their bodies. Body lotions have become a vital tool in this meditative process of self-care, allowing consumers to express their self-love through tangible acts of nourishment. This growing demand for indulgent body lotions has been reflected in the surging sales. In fact, renowned beauty retailer Space NK reported an astounding 847% increase in body lotion sales in 2022, and this upward trend shows no signs of slowing down.
Textured Treats
As consumers make time to enhance their moods and embrace small yet impactful beauty rituals, brands are seizing the opportunity to delve into experimentation with ingredients, scents and textures.
Elevated Essentials
Despite its status as a common beauty essential, body lotions have undergone a transformation with the introduction of innovative formulas and cutting-edge technology. These advancements have reignited appreciation for the undeniable value of body lotions and elevated them to a new level. One of the noteworthy trends in body care is the application of the same level of care that is typically given to facial skincare. Consumers are seeking out body care products that provide more effective results, mirroring their comprehensive beauty routines. This has led to the development of ingredient-driven products for the body, using high-level formulas that were previously reserved for the face. These products are not separate from facial skincare; instead, they utilise the same advanced technology and active ingredients but in optimised formats for the body.
Scented Skincare
Blanche Body Lotion from BYREDO, Another 13 Body Lotion from Le Labo Fragrances and Coco Mademoiselle Moisturising Body Lotion from Chanel are all proof that the connection between perfumery and personal care are still as strong as they ever were, despite continued interest in fragrance-free formulations. In 2023, there has been a rise in a playful and flexible approach to wearing fragrance, with a desire to extend the longevity of favourite scents. Consumers are becoming more experimental in their scent choices and are looking for ways to incorporate fragrance into more parts of their body. Consequently, brands have responded by focusing on creating fragranced body products to meet this demand. This trend explores the concept of wearing fragrance on the entire body, offering a versatile and immersive olfactory experience.
Body Mists
The resurgence of body mists can be attributed to a strong sense of nostalgia in the fragrance and beauty industry in 2023. Brands have revamped the format, which was popular among teenagers in the 1990s and 2000s, by creating more sophisticated and wearable versions. The sales of luxurious fragranced body mists have grown by 185% during the first half of 2023 in the US, according to Circana. This revival signifies a shift towards a more casual way of scenting the body, countering the prevailing trend of intense perfumes that have long-lasting effects.
